Floorplan #4

Woo hoo! This place is starting to come together! Jim Schneck of MasterBuild Associates just sent me ...this latest floorplan. I still think the master bedroom is just too gigantic.

The Progress

I'm going to be showing Jeff Davenport the space today. He might be one of the first roommates. Hope he likes it, cuz hes a cool dude.

I am also going over the final budget today with Jim. I think we should be able to cut a lot of things out of the last budget if I do them myself. I really want to do that anyway so that won't be a problem. Hopefully my years of building stage sets in high school will come in handy.

It's been a week

It's been a week since my last post. Not a ton has been happening. Just waiting for the bank to figure stuff out. We did have a really good walk thru last friday. Plumbers, electricians, engineers, HVAC, etc. all came and took a look at the space. Jim has been compiling bids this week and should have everything sorted out.

I'm going in tomorrow to sign contracts and hopefully really get the ball rolling. Jim is drawing up some more clearly thought thru plans so hopefully I'll have a final draft of the floorplan soon.

Dan and I drew up (he drew while I watched :) an actual version of floorplan #2. I like this one a lot. Look at the size of that master bath!

Here is Tim's floorplan idea. Definitely cool. And who could argue with a sauna?

Tim says:
"this is just a mock up but kind of what I was thinking, nothing is to scale but it should give you something to work with and show your architect. The faded yellow area would be the loft area about the bathroom that we discussed. It would be a cool place to hang out if you had people over and also a spot you could put a futon or something if you had someone stay over."

Master Suite (sweet!)

I just got back from checking out the space again with Tim Chladek and I finally realized just how big it is. It would be really dumb of me not to create a huge master bedroom and bath for myself. I am redrawing my floor plans right now and will repost them shortly.

Floorplan #1

If you have Adobe Illustrator, download the floorplan and play with it. Here is a gif of the floorplan if you don't have illustrator. I like this one for the most part but the front bathroom looks like a telephone booth stuck over in the corner...kinda silly. And I definitely think that figuring out how to have 2 seperate full baths would be ideal. Tell me what you think.

First Steps...

I will be going under contract on my new space tomorrow. I can't stop looking at desgin books and magazines. I've gone thru a ton of design itterations... I can't settle on anything. I will post some floorplans and get some feedback from you. Check out a picture of the inside. Looks a bit sketch, but you just have to see it to really appreciate what a great space it is.
